Landscape quilt featuring Bow Fiddle Rock
Description
Here is a landscape quilt, depicting the rock formation known as Bow Fiddle Rock. This naturally formed sea arch is located off the coast of Scotland.
As a fan of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, and a person with a touch of Scottish ancestry, I am drawn to images of Scotland. While the Seal’s Isle, as mentioned in Diana’s series, is actually slightly southwest of Bow Fiddle, this is how I envision the landscape around the seal’s isle. In the third book of the Outlander series, Voyager, young Ian swims out to the seals isle to retrieve some gemstones and finds himself abducted by pirates. In my imagination, Jamie and Claire, just might see an arch such as this, as they stand on the cliffs, high above the sea, helplessly watching their young nephew being kidnapped.
The one of a kind quilt uses a combination of piecing, raw edge applique, free motion quilting and free motion embroidery.
This piece is 30 inches wide by 36 inches tall.
Custom wall hanging sizes available via special order. Please contact for pricing and estimated turn around time.
It has a hanging sleeve attached, so is ready to hang. This piece would look stunning in a frame as well.
This original piece was shown at Confluence, a pop up art gallery in Readsboro, Vermont. It is now back in my studio and awaiting it’s forever home.
