About Us
At Hummingbird Hill Quilting your quilt will receive the love and care that it deserves. Each quilt is evaluated on an individual basis to assure the quilting is appropriate to the style of your quilt.
WHO WE ARE
Tessa Atwood began quilting as a hobby in 1995. A self taught quilter, she quickly emerged herself into the quilt world. Before long she found herself working in a quilt shop and soon became their quilting instructor. She taught both traditional and contemporary design. Classes spanned all categories of quilting from machine piecing, machine and hand-quilting, machine and hand applique, watercolors, landscape quilts, fabric folding…you name it!
In 2001, Tessa purchased Calliope, her 14 ft. Gammill Classic long-arm quilting machine and has been providing quilting services ever since.
In 2004, Tessa had her first child and left the fabric store and instructing to stay at home full-time with her daughter, Sawyer. In 2006, came the second child, this time a boy named Garrison, to round out the family at HHQ.
AND NOW? In 2013 we were able to acquire a second long arm machine and equip it with the Intelliquilter digitized quilting system. This has allowed for speedier turn around times, as well as allowing us to offer a whole new selection of beautifully detailed quilting designs. Currently, all digitally created pantograph designs are $0.025/square inch.
Do you have quilt tops that need to be finished?
Let Hummingbird Hill Quilting turn those quilt tops into beautiful finished quilts.
Since September 2001, Hummingbird Hill Quilting has been providing Long-Arm Machine quilting services with the help of Calliope, our 14 foot long Gammill Classic Long-Arm quilting machine. We offer a large selection of custom and pantograph designs, competitive pricing, and speedy turn around times for your quilt. Hummingbird Hill Quilting treats each quilt with care and respect and will work with you to help you get the design choice that suits both your quilt and your budget.
In addition to providing machine quilting services, Hummingbird Hill Quilting also offers a selection of ready made quilts. Unless otherwise noted, each quilt is handcrafted in Wilmington, Vermont. All are, in some way unique, and many are Hummingbird Hill Quilting original designs. We offer a variety of traditional and contemporary designs in both bed and art quilts.
In 2014, we added a second Gammill long arm machine to our studio!! This machine has been equipped with a digitized quilting system to allow it to stitch out computer generated designs with beautifully detailed accuracy.
